Established for over 19 years, EPH Creative is one of the UK’s leading event & theming suppliers. We work with an ever-growing & impressive range of clients from well-known TV Shows, to Visitor Attractions, Corporate Clients, Weddings and Private Parties. We supply props and theming to over 2,000 events & bespoke projects each year.
Our headquarters near Wetherby house are an Aladdin’s cave of props, furniture and theming, over 144,000 sq. ft. Our State of the Art Scenic Production facility is one of the largest in the UK.
As a result of company growth, we are now recruiting for an experienced and skilled CNC machinist & programmer to join our Production Team. If you would like to work on exceptional high quality prop builds using innovative and pioneering technology in a creative, inspiring environment then EPH Creative might be the place for you! We are a forward thinking company in a fast paced industry so passion for what we create & do is extremely important to us.
Your days may involve programming and machining a giant corn on the cob, a flat-pack assemblies, toy soldier props or a pumpkin carriage (yes life size!) – we can truly say that the projects you will work on will be diverse and challenging! You will need to have a keen eye for detail carrying out thorough assessments on every piece of work you create in order to meet our high standards for quality. You will need to study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information, helping determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products while working to target tolerances.
The Events industry is notoriously last minute & you will need to sometimes work to tight deadlines to meet client demand. You will need to be able to keep a calm head in sometimes pressurised situations while keeping a clear outlook.
The kit that you’ll have to play with are the following machines, but we are always looking to expand and grow to meet the needs of the business.
– Athena CMS 5 Axis Machine with a 2m x 4m bed and a milling depth of up to 1.2m (excluding tool length). – We use this for milling big 3D models from materials like EPS and Polyeurathene Foam through the software Alpha Cam.
– Tekcell 3 Axis Machine with a 1.5m x 2.5m bed and milling depth of up to 120mm. – This workhorse is used for all types of various wood and plastic based sheet materials.
The role has the scope to expand into the use the following machines too.
– BRM 100W laser cutter with a 1m x 1.6m bed size for cutting up to 10mm thick acrylic as well as other suitable materials.
– CNC controlled Hot Wire polystyrene cutter with a 2.4m x 2.4m x 2.4m workspace.
This is a new role in our business, previously we have trained multiple users on the machines, but our ambition is to turn this into its own focused department. You would be the keeper of the machines, ensuring the maintenance is up to date and the machines are well looked after. You would help manage the CNC work that comes from all directions, working towards taking responsibility of the scheduling this with the goal of always keeping the machines busy! You’ll also make sure that milling times are logged, allowing our project and costing teams to use this data and your valuable knowledge on new projects.

** Please note: we can only accept applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK**
